Redmi Note: Specifications and Features
Killer looks!
That is the first thing anyone would want to say after watching the first pictures of this phone.
Keeping in view the current fad for devices with larger screens, the new device will have a 5.5 inch HD IPS display. Whether you are reading messages, sending or receiving mails, playing games, reading an eBook or simply surfing the internet- this high quality large screen will make it a pleasure.
The official site mentions Redmi Note has a “178° in-plane switching (IPS) technologydelivers stunning color consistency from almost any angle. With Glass-film-film (GFF) architecture, pixels sit closer to the glass, which allows colors to pop off the screen. Images are not only brighter, but are also less affected by glare.”
The rear camera comes with a 13MP resolution while the front camera is 5MP, making it a good choice for photography enthusiasts and selfie freaks alike.
“A 28 millimeter wide-angle lens lets you capture more with each shot. More scenery, more friends, more of the moments that matter to you. Redmi’s ƒ/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide angle lens let you focus in on objects in the foreground of your shot, while softly blurring objects in the background,” claims Xiaomi.
The 1.7 GHz octa-core processor in the new Redmi Note MTK will be 78% faster than that of its predecessor, the quad-core MT6589T.
The device comes with 2 GB RAM, an 8GB internal memory and a slot for an external microSD card.
The 3,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery promises 14 hours of uninterrupted internet usage on a 3G connection, 38 hours on a 2G connection, 60 hours of nonstop music and 775 hours standby time which makes it one of the best choices for those whose battery gets drained out by lunch time on most days.
Further the phone comes with a dual SIM option- 1 WCDMA slot for 3G data and 1 GS slot for 2G data.
The device will be available in six colours- black, white, grey, pink, light blue and a darker blue.
At a price of Rs. 9999/-, this should be a big hit with people who want to have large display phones in their pocket. Given the response to their flagship MI 3 and mid-range Redmi 1S, it is quite evident that the new Redmi Note will also create the same frenzy as its siblings!
